Tuscan-eating and talking sheep
Our project

‘Stilnovo’ is a chain project, funded by the Tuscan Region RDP 2014-2020 to improve sheep milk quality through process and product innovations, the result of research and technologies developed by the Sant’Anna High School in Pisa, the Interdepartmental Centre of agro-environmental research (CIRAA) of the University of Pisa and the Department of food production and environmental sciences (DISPAA) of the University of Florence. The total amount of the approved funding for “Progetto Stilnovo”, is equal to Euro 450.000,00, of which Euro 138.510,00 are for Caseificio Sociale Manciano Soc. Agr. Coop.
The project involves 9 breeders belonging to the Manciano Cheesemaking Factory, their flocks, and some grazing areas, where sustainable farming practices will be implemented to improve milk quantity and quality, animal welfare and business productivity. The goal is to offer an even better product and even more sustainable one for the environment, thanks to sheep that ‘talk and eat Tuscan.
